Almonds: prices change by as much as 50%

MADRID/SACRAMENTO. Prices are developing in different directions in Spain. Drastic shifts have been observed for some varieties.

Organic almonds decline in price

The farmgate prices for organic Valencias have remained stable for the first time in weeks, spot market prices in Murcia have even declined. Organic Valenicas, 12/14 mm, are trading for EUR 9.50 per kg EXW Spain. Contrary to this, the market for conventional almonds is highly volatile . The prices for Marcona almonds have partly surged by as much as EUR 0.50 per kg. Valencia and Largueta almonds are trading in a stable range for the time being. Supplies of Largueta almonds with large kernels are, howver, very much limited.
