NEW DELHI. The prospect of a large crop and the willingness of sellers to get their goods to buyers is pushing down prices on the Indian chickpea market. Market players must remain flexible at all times.

Following last year's high chickpea prices, many farmers have increased their acreage and market players are expecting a large crop. High arrivals from the cultivation areas in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka are currently pushing down commodity prices on the Indian markets, and export prices have also fallen again.
