AYDIN. With higher temperatures and a lack of rainfall, the probability of yield losses is increasing in Aydin. Production was already significantly lower than usual this season.

No cooling in sight

Temperatures of around 30°C in the Turkish province of Aydin are increasing the risk of drought this spring. Little or no rainfall would have a negative impact on the yields of the new crop.

The price indications for Turkish dried figs remain stable for the time being, as there is virtually nothing left to trade. The last remaining positions are expected to be sold off by the end of May. However, there will then still be around four months until the new crop is available on the market.
