MANISA. The sultana farmers in Manisa are worried about the mild winter and the flowering period is just around the corner. Prices have risen again and there seems to be no end in sight.

The unusually warm winter in Manisa, the main growing region for Turkish sultanas, is a major concern for growers. The fruit trees there are already in full bloom, which dramatically increases the risk of loss in the event of strong temperature fluctuations and night frosts until the end of April.
