Hazelnuts: pests could remain a problem in 2024

Hazelnut production down by more than 10%

The International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC) has confirmed a decline in hazelnut production of more than 10% in its latest report. In the 2023/2024 season, around 1.095 million mt of in-shell hazelnuts were harvested worldwide, compared to 1.227 million mt in the previous year. The main reason for this development was the decline in production in Turkey, which is by far the most important producing country.
