Rapeseed: more confidence in coping with Covid-19

HAMBURG. The share price development in Winnipeg and Paris showed a noticeable upward trend again. Tighter regulations from the USA and Malaysia as well as firmer crude oil prices led to rising prices. Politicians say that they want to support the economy in connection with the effects of the coronavirus.

The canola and rapeseed markets showed slight signs of recovery after the US and Malaysian targets were firmer again. Canola in Winnipeg increased by CAD 5.50 to CAD 459.30 per metric tonne. Rapeseed was EUR 5.00 higher in Paris at EUR 385.75 per metric tonne. Even in Canada, the trade was surprised by firmer canola prices than during the previous days, due to higher soybean prices in Chicago and higher palm oil prices in Malaysia.
