Sultanas: Delays in Turkey and new prices in China

MANISA/TEHRAN. Market players in Turkey report that the Ministery of Agriculture will issue official production estimates by 29th August at the latest. Meanwhile, traders in Iran are busy preparing for the arrival of new crop.

Official figures will be issued at the end of August

Unofficial estimates state that Turkey will produce 300,000 to 350,000 metric tonnes of sultanas and raisins. At the end of the month, these estimates will most certainly be officially confirmed. By then, the TMO should alos have declared in how far purchases are intended. Market players reckon that this is very well possible.
