Sultanas: night frosts in Manisa

MANISA. Night frosts occurred in Manisa at the end of last week. Fortunately, the vineyards remained unharmed. The recent interest rate hike has rendered bank loans even more unattractive for exporters.

Elections slow down lending

On Thursday, meteorologists issued a frost warning for Manisa and the neighbouring provinces. Nighttime temperatures dipped below freezing between Thursday and Sunday causing light to moderate frosts in high altitude areas. As the vines are still dormant no damages have been reported. In addition, the weather has turned milder again this week with temperatures ranging at 20-27C (68-81F) throughout the day and at 7-13C (45-55F) throughout the night.
